There are so many people who keep things running at the house. We have also been blessed by some very generous organizations, two of which are the Winnipeg Foundation who have recently helped us put in a new stairlift to the second floor, and the Government of Canada's Homelessness Partnering Strategy, who are helping give the house some much needed renovations. Dinner Theatre Announcement!

The Coffee House event “Acts of Kindness” was a blast! Thanks to everyone who attended and participated. (that includes all the behind the scenes volunteers who weren't able to attend, but helped to set up)

We had approximately 200 in attendance – a full house! Our cost was very low due to the generosity of the Bands and Musicians for their time, Elim Chapel for the space, the many bakeries and bakers for the desserts, and Starbucks for a portion of the coffee.

We brought in just over $3000, and after all expenses were deducted, we came out with a profit of $2300.00. So thanks again to all who made the whole night happen!

Call and get a genuine Hesed "Donation Can" for your home, small group, or business! Maybe someone you know could host a Can? It will collect all that unwanted spare change and you'll be providing a bed and loving care for someone with HIV/AIDS who is in need.

Marnie and Brian are the two new staff people at Hesed. Marnie will take care of the office-ish kinda daytime stuff, and Brian will be keeping the house spotless during the overnights. On the left is an artists conception of their roles at Hesed. ;) Just joking. We're so happy to have you!

We would also like to say we love people! The more the merrier. If you have a hankering to get involved with us there is a spot for you. It could be hanging out with the residents while watching TV, doing some baking, or taking someone out for a cruise in your car.
